I read something recently about writing a “diary full of lies” to leave as a joke for your family to read after you die. It would be a diary of outrageous adventures to make people think you did all these crazy things.
Why not flip this around and begin writing this “diary” about the things you’ve always dreamed of doing?
You could write about the three weeks you took to visit Peru and hike the Inca Trail. You would begin on day one writing about your flight, and then each day all the events throughout your trip. You’d write about how it felt, the weather, even the people you met.
You could write about finding and buying your dream home. Start journaling where your search took you and how you ultimately found it. Then you could journal the move in process and how you now enjoy sitting on the porch on Saturday morning with your coffee watching the birds and butterflies around your flower garden.
You could write about the day you ran your first marathon. Begin by journaling your daily runs, building up stamina, and running further and further each day. Then tell about the big day, how you woke up energized, the people you met along the course, and the elation and exhaustion you felt after crossing the finish line.
Eventually, you may find, that it’s just as easy to begin actually doing these things (and write as you are experiencing them) rather than just making up the adventures and writing about them.
I challenge you, if you’re not already taking action and making your dreams happen in your life, to begin a diary detailing (manifesting) one of your dreams. Journal each day what you are doing to prepare for it. Whether it’s to get in shape for your marathon, or save money and plan out your exotic trip.
